Child Protection is an area of concern for many clubs and coaches. There have been further changes in this area both in policy and legislation. The policy is broader to cover children and vulnerable adults. CANI Coaching Panel is seeking to demystify the area and allay some fears by running a number of workshops. The workshops are free of charge to CANI members and £5 to non members.
“Creating a safer environment within our sport in order that everyone can enjoy themselves safely is everyone’s responsibility” BCU
“The BCU wishes to ensure that all those taking part in canoeing are able to do so protected and kept safe from harm while they are with staff, coaches and/or volunteers. This is particularly true in respect of children and vulnerable adults.” BCU
There are two types of workshop :
1 . Child Protection Awareness Training
This course is suitable for everyone involved with children in sport: parents… participants… paddlers…coaches….volunteers…club members and club officials…
